Summary: The People Business Partner (PBP) is a strategic role that collaborates with business leaders to align People strategies with business objectives. Supporting various functions, the PBP provides guidance, advice, and coaching to business client groups on people and organizational needs. This role ensures alignment of People objectives with business goals, driving top organizational performance.
This role is a hybrid role that will work onsite 1-2 days per week at our Buffalo Grove, IL location. Occasional travel may be required as part of this position.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with business leaders by understanding strategic objectives and aligning HR strategies to achieve them.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on people-related issues to managers and senior business leaders, demonstrating empathy, credibility, integrity, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Provide advice and support on a variety of HR issues such as onboarding, organizational design, performance management, and talent development initiatives, ensuring development of high performing teams and alignment with Onbe's enterprise-wide practices, culture, and core values.
- Partner with client groups to implement and execute people strategies.
- Support employee inquiries and lead investigations of complaints and concerns, assessing severity, involving appropriate partners, and facilitating appropriate actions.
- Counsel and mentor managers and leaders to build an engaged and successful work environment.
- Bring best practices and external perspectives to strategic and operational business discussions and people management decision-making.
- Collaborate with People team functional experts (talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation, and benefits) to optimize programs for client groups.
- Analyze People insights and data to translate them into effective initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an PBP role.
- SHRM, PHR certification preferred
- Experience working in a hyper-growth organization.
- Previous experience with transactional work in a M&A environment.
- Outstanding relationship-building and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, gain buy in, interact positively with partners at all levels.
- Demonstrated advising and mentorship skills.
- Demonstrated ability to define problems, establish alternative solutions, and figure out the most efficient course of action.
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize, meet timelines, deliver projects to completion, manage results.
- Ability to handle sophisticated situations with good judgement, tact, and discretion.
- Able to understand, navigate, and design in a highly matrixed organizational structure.
The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $110,000 to $115,500 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of proven experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
