Lead with Purpose – People and Culture Business Partner for the Greensboro Police Department (Internal Opportunity)

We are looking for a People and Culture Business Partner for the Police Department, an internal opportunity available to current City of Greensboro employees. In this role, you’ll be responsible for administering key personnel functions, maintaining compliance with employment laws, and serving as a liaison between the Police Department and the Civil Service Board. Your attention to detail and ability to support staff with key HR processes will make a direct impact on the department’s efficiency and success.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Information: Salary is based on qualifications. The full salary range is $45,017 - $80,557, and the hiring range is $54,764 - $59,233.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

About the Role:
As a People and Culture Business Partner, you will work in alignment with our core values to ensure smooth HR operations within the Police Department. In this role, you will:
- Liaison with the Civil Service Board: Provide requested or statutorily required documents, administer the Police Department’s portion of the nomination and voting process for Civil Service Board members, and manage action items from the Board.
- Administer and Process: Handle paperwork for Payroll, Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, and Benefits, ensuring proper application of FLSA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, City Personnel policies, and People & Culture guidelines.
- Provide Administrative Support: Maintain staff action files, enter associated data, and provide clerical support for the Police Department. You’ll also serve as a backup to the departmental People & Culture Representative and step in for employment staff during their absences.
This job is Non-Exempt and subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
