Our Neurosciences Unit is part of our Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence and is looking for a Weekend Days C linical Resource Nurse to join our team.
The Clinical Resource Nurse is a Registered Nurse with 15 or more years of experience who demonstrates the ability to coordinate patient care to meet the complex needs of the patient population on the unit. This nurse will support and promote all education, quality, patient safety initiatives, and a solid commitment to the patient experience. In addition, this nurse will role model and mentor problem-solving and critical thinking. Communication with all healthcare team members will be respectful and professional. A commitment to one's professional development is essential in the nursing leadership role.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
+ D5A and NIU Neurosciences are a 37-bed neuro-acute and 9 bed neuro-intercare department within a 4-time Magnet designated organization.
+ We provide comprehensive care for complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, brain injury, brain tumors, spinal injury, and spine tumors.
+ Work with dedicated professionals committed to patient centered excellence. Act as an advocate for patients, families, and significant others.

Job Requirements:
+ Competent in Medical-Surgical -Telemetry Nursing and Neurosciences.
+ Acts as a clinical resource for the staff.
+ Proficient in all clinical skills that are appropriate to those units.
+ Knowledge in accessing clinical resources.
+ Acts as a role model and mentor to staff who do not possess the skill set of any such procedure or initiative.
+ Positively supports all patient care initiatives and communicates the connection to evidence-based practice, contributing to positive patient outcomes.
+ Efficiently facilitates the flow of the patient care unit, reports, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
+ Promotes high-quality patient care by consistently meeting the patient's and family's expectations of excellent care and proactively engaging patients and families to identify expectations and goals of this admission.
+ Role models problem solving when a practice challenge arises. It takes time to coach staff on new or low-frequency procedures.
+ Communication- Uses the operating principles of Baystate Health. Provides feedback to supervisors/managers on any nurse practice concerns. Listens respectfully. Is aware of one's own body language during interactions with team members, patients, and families.
+ Flexible to unit changes, can prioritize needs, assigns staff appropriately, and regroup when acuity increases, admissions, and discharges co-occur.
+ This nurse will be aware and committed to the efficient flow of patients on and off the unit.
+ Self-motivated and committed to lifelong learning by attending professional development opportunities and services.
+ Demonstrates competency for on-to-one observation of patients based on departmental and unit-specific needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
+ Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
+ Experience: 15 or more years of experience in an acute care hospital setting.
+ Education: AND required; BSN preferred.
Skills/Competencies:
+ Membership on key unit-specific practice committees as appropriate or hospital-wide practice councils.
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Consistent attendance at unit-based and hospital-wide shared-governance meetings.
+ Responsible for information missed at meetings and unable to attend.
+ Committed to one's own professional growth and development.

PAY:
+ Experienced RN (1+ years of RN Licensure) $42.66-$65.00.
