Per Diem Job Coach - SEEM Collaborative

Reports to: Director of Transition Services
Job Description: The per diem job coach provides employment services to SEEM Collaborative students in community settings. Services include: helping students research career interests, job development, assisting with job interviews the application process, worksite training and consultation. The job coach is responsible for data collection, monitoring student job performance, and reporting on student progress to the teachers and school personnel.
This is a part-time, per diem position. Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Some hours may fall outside of the school schedule.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree, and/or certification in an area related to education or human services preferred.
- Previous experience working with youth/young adults with diverse learning needs in community settings.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Scope of duties:
- Assist the transition specialist in implementing instructional activities, developing worksite procedures and preparing necessary materials.
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Facilitate communication between the student and employer.
- Assist with procuring and developing community worksites.
- Train and coach the student to meet the employer standards and expectations as established.
- Work to resolve obstacles to student work performance, e.g., conflicts with social interactions, abuse of break time, and changes in job expectations.
- Conduct data collection.
- As student develops job skills, move to indirect monitoring while modeling appropriate employee behaviors.
- Transport students in SEEM vehicles as needed.
- Maintain student confidentiality.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening.

Evaluation:
- The per diem job coach will receive on-going supervision, and will be evaluated annually.
