Overview:
- Tier One Technologies is seeking a Performance QA Software Tester to work with our direct US Government client. The candidate will be part of a team responsible for the technical support and administration one of the Department of the Treasury’s financial systems.
- This hybrid position will be located in Cleveland. OH.
- SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
- All candidates must be US citizens.
- Perform software testing in support of the maintenance and development of the system’s application.
- Ensure that completed software meets established standards and validate end-user documentation.
- Interface with the development teams and client business analysts as required.
- Participate in system requirements reviews, critical design reviews, test readiness reviews and pre/post implementation reviews as part of the defined system development life cycle.
- Design/execute test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
- Manually test any new software to ensure functional requirements, system compliance and technical specifications are adhered to.
- Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
- Create / maintain databases of known test defects.
- Work across departments to validate actual test results against expected results.
- Review and document defects against business documentation throughout the system’s development lifecycle.
- Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
- Analyze complex situations and recommend solutions to the client.
- Recommend areas for process improvement.
- Attend daily stand-up meetings with the project team and provide detailed analysis when requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology with 5+ years of professional experience; or 3+ years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
- Prior Manual testing experience and familiarity with the Mainframe environment.
- Strong working knowledge of PL/SQL and ability to query databases.
- Strong working knowledge of LoadRunner, ALM/Quality Center software and other performance testing tools.
- Experience utilizing System Development Life Cycle models (Agile or Waterfall).
- Ability to create, manage, and execute complex test scenarios.
- Ability to map test cases to business requirements and functional designs.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management practices is beneficial.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Be able to pass a drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
- Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
