Chief Pediatric Perfusionist

Requirements for consideration:
- Bachelor's Degree in Perfusion technology
- Five years’ experience as a clinical Perfusionist performing complex cases
- Certified Clinical Perfusionist required upon start.
- Basic Life Support by AHA required upon start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with both adults and pediatrics cases
- Previous experience in leadership
Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- The Chief Pediatric Perfusionist ensures the effective and efficient functioning of the pediatric unit and the achievement of optimal patient outcomes.
- Delivers safe, high quality and cost-effective perioperative services.
- Serves as the pediatric chief clinical leader and resource for the pediatric perfusion unit while ensuring unit compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements and the Joint Commission standards.
- Ensures practice improvements by providing direction and guidance to others regarding preoperative services and specialty.
- Utilizes the Joint Commission standards, peer reviewed evidence-based literature and AMSECT guidelines to support a surgical care delivery system that produces quality care with optimal outcomes.
- Collaborates with leadership on pediatric unit participation for emergency preparedness activities.
- Conducts education and coordinates emergency/trauma surgical skill training in addition to participating in pediatric unit-specific drills.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
