Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
- Manage all phases of personal injury and wrongful death litigation, from investigation and pleadings through pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations.
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
- Consult with clients, witnesses, and other professionals to discuss case details.
- Conduct pre-trial proceedings, including depositions, mediation, and arbitration.
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- Provide legal advice and recommendations to clients regarding their legal rights, obligations, and privileges.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Texas State Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal injury law.
- Proven trial experience.
- Proficiency in using legal software such as Filevine and Lead Docket.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law, including auto/trucking accidents and premises liability.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Proven ability to handle a high caseload and juggle multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong ethics and a high level of professionalism.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to provide high-quality legal advice and customer service.
