About the Job
We are currently in search of a experienced, dedicated and detail-oriented full-time Legal Assistant to join our team. Our firm specializes exclusively in the field of personal injury law, and we are looking for the perfect candidate who possesses the skills and motivation to support our clients effectively. The ideal Legal Assistant will be responsible for requesting and managing medical and billing records, ensuring that all documentation is obtained in a timely manner. Additionally, this role involves assisting with various facets of a client's case, guiding them through the process from initial intake through to settlement. This position is crucial in helping us provide the highest quality of service to our clients during what can often be a challenging time for them.
Job duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Providing support to the Attorney and Case Managers as necessary;
- Operating a multi-line phone system, answering calls, and managing the attorney's office calendar;
- Gathering medical records and invoices, verifying outstanding balances, and identifying key issues for negotiation;
- Acquiring subrogation liens from health insurance providers and confirming the use of health insurance for treatment when applicable;
- Regularly following up with clients, healthcare providers, and insurance adjusters until tasks are completed;
- Collecting and organizing documents within our cloud-based case management system;
- Initiating insurance claims against automobile and commercial policies;
- Assisting clients with their property damage claims;
- Sorting, scanning, and archiving incoming mail;
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
The ideal candidate for this position would have an understanding of the following:
- Personal Injury Law
- Medical terminology pertaining to a personal injury client's medical treatment
- Case Management Software Filevine
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Teams.
