Personal Trainer - The Gym

Job Description

THE GYM is looking for a unique individual to join their professional Personal Training Team.  All GYM Employees must promote the Vision, Mission and Culture of THE GYM at all times and be able to inherently deliver Five-Star Customer service throughout all functions of their duties.  Teamwork, excellent communication skills, hard work and integrity are fundamental characteristics of a GYM Employee.  To be considered for a Personal Training position, all applicants must strive for personal excellence, thrive on helping people and carry themselves with the highest level of professionalism.

As a member of the Personal Training Team, a Trainer’s goal is to provide members with the best possible fitness experience by giving them the tools, direction and motivation to help them succeed in their fitness quest.  Education, dedication and inspiration are critical for the trainer to deliver on a daily basis.  A trainer must be committed to the members, reliable to his/her co-workers and maintain a work space in a meticulously detailed and functional manner.  

The following is a list of the duties and responsibilities associated with The Personal training Position at THE GYM:

Responsibilities to Members:

• Greet Members on the Fitness Floor
• Assist Members with Exercise Programs
• Educate Members for Safety and Results
• Maintain the Appearance and Safety of the Fitness Floor
• Support GYM programs that promote healthy lifestyle options, community events and GYM sponsored activities

Personal Training Responsibilities:

• Provide the initial member Fitness orientation
• Provide member two additional complimentary personal training sessions
• Promote fee-based training services
• Achieve accepted GYM conversion and retention percentages
• Seek educational opportunities and maintain a valid accredited certification 

Responsibilities to Facility:

• Actively seek out opportunities to improve the appearance of the equipment and facility
• Report any maintenance issues in a timely manner and be able to provide explanation to a member about the status of a repair

Administration:

• Produce accurate payroll invoices
• Maintain accurate client records
• Be proficient with departmental software programs

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Members with Exercise Programs

• Actively seek out opportunities to improve the appearance of the equipment and facility

QUALIFICATIONS

• Exhibit and practice a high level of dedication to THE GYM's vision, mission and culture
• Must represent oneself in a professional, ethical and respectful manner at all times
• Possess good judgment and superior customer service and communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, working with team members and clients
• Ability to motivate and inspire participants to reach Fitness and Nutritional goals
• Must be available to work a variety of work hours including day, evening, weekends and holidays
• Currently holds or pursuing Personal Training Certification (NASM, NSCA, and/or ACSM)
• Able to Obtain CPR and AED Certification
• Willing to participate in training and attend team meetings
• Exhibit the characteristics of a healthy lifestyle
• Exclusive employment with THE GYM unless prior arrangements have been made
• Meet all the requirements of this position as described
