Summary:
ThePersonnel Support Specialist shall provide personnel management and maintain currency of changing personnel instructions through frequent communication with higher headquarters, including state HQs, HQAir National Guard (HQANG), ACC, CONR-1 AF (AFNORTH/AFSPACE) and Air ReservePersonnel Center (ARPC).
Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions:
- Shall maintain military unit manning documents; coordinate all moveswithin the sector; accomplish personnel actions for processing. Provide weekly updates on thedocument, identify changes, errors (if any), and fix actions.
- Manage and track gains and losses in the unit. Report personnel fulltimestrength and accountability to higher headquarters and provide situation reports on unitpersonnel strength and accountability to the Operations duty officer daily.
- Maintain and analyze statistical data of unit personnel authorizedversus assigned and trained for status of reports and training (SORTs) reporting.
- Manage unit job announcements. Manage, generate, and advertisejob announcements when vacancies occur within the organization. Collect applications; review foraccuracy, provide guidance to selecting officials, and process forms for newly selected individuals.Also assist in advertising ANG positions outside the organization.
- Shall process requests, provide guidance to supervisors, and maintainliaison with local Command Support Staff.
- Shall prepare active-duty orders for drill status guardsman personnel.
- Shall manage the selective retention process. Ensure the members arebriefed and counseled on the state’s selective retention process and assist the chain of command
- with notifications to members being retained/non-retained.
- Shall process retirement/separation requests.
- Shall in-process and out-process unit personnel and augmentees. In processpersonnel: provide checklist, construct welcome packages as necessary for new members,obtain required forms (voluntary consent, personal information, etc.), update personnel files, briefmembers on local policies (pay, billeting, orders, and UTA policies), and make billetingarrangements for drill status guardsmen (DSG) personnel coming in to perform duty. Out-processpersonnel: provide checklist, obtain copy of orders, obtain forwarding address and phone, updatefiles personnel information files (PIFs), and update pay records.
- Coordinate updates and corrections within the military personnelsystems.
- Coordinate all requests for demobilization and/or mobilizationbetween member, state HHQ, ANG, and MAJCOM.
- Shall track personnel tour expiration, suspense pending renewals,process extension or termination paperwork as required, and maintain AGR orders for allpersonnel.
- Shall request and produce personnel management products and reports.
- Shall manage unit leave program.
- Manage Squadron’s Sponsorship Program; request sponsor throughchain of command, ensure sponsor is trained, and welcome package and letter are sent to newmember.
- Provide customer service to members at all levels of command thatneed information and assistance with programs provided by the commander’s support staff(general questions, MilPDS requests, research AF instructions and policies, etc.).
- Shall access military personnel systems: MilPDS, vPC-GR, vMPF,PRDA, AROWS, LeaveWeb, CMAS, AF Portal, and AF/ANG Community of Practice (CoPs).
- Maintain manpower documents, personnel records, active guard/reserve tour management, ANG hiring practices, military leave program, and a myriad of otherpersonnel actions.
- Shall possess experience with administrative communications,correspondence, and general office management.
- Manage multiple tasks while handling a large volume of work withfrequent interruptions. Ability to deal effectively with personnel at various levels of command,both orally and in writing.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Collaboration and Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in teams or cross-functional environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience supporting operationsplanning and with the GFM process. Trained and certified tooperate the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System(JOPES).
- US citizen
- Must have a Secret clearance
The salary range for this position is $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 annually.
