Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.

Job Description:We are:
The Pharmacy Department utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical, and dispensing services. The department has one of the most robust sets of electronic clinical resources in the country and a dynamic medication safety program.
Across the Center, we review 1.5 million orders per year and dispense over three million doses of medication annually. The Pharmacy Department has more than 450 employees, with approximately 300 pharmacists servicing patients in 26 pharmacy satellites, including inpatient unit-based satellites in all oncological specialties.
Memorial Sloan Kettering provides free, live, onsite, accredited continuing education pharmacy courses to help keep your credentials up to date. The department will also sponsor national and state membership for pharmacy organizations and appropriate off-site educational meetings. We are seeking a Pharmacist to join our 53rd Street Rockefeller Outpatient Pavilion location team.
You will:
- Verify and prepare investigational, chemotherapy, and non-chemotherapy agents
- Good aseptic and compounding skills
- Enter premeds and anti-emetics per institutional guidelines
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
- Execute cleanroom operations
- Retail Pharmacy coverage as needed
- Other duties as needed
You are:
- Highly motivated and able to work well with others in a fast paced environment
- Able to adopt a culture centered around patient safety and cleanroom sterility
- Able to make good judgements even with incomplete information
- Able to suggest changes to workflow to improve patient care
- A person with strong sense of ownership and willingness to learn in an empowering environment
- Someone with a substantial understanding of computer and pharmacy systems
- Someone with an encouraging attitude towards others’ beliefs and ideas
You have:
- Valid NY Pharmacist license
- PharmD (or equivalent)
- Prior hospital pharmacy and chemotherapy experience preferred
- Strong computer skills and the ability to develop a good understanding of pharmacy systems
- Prior retail pharmacy experience beneficial
- IV compounding experience (preferred)
Hours:
- Shifts will fall during hours of operation: currently 6am to 9pm Monday to Thursday, 6:30am to 8pm Friday, and 8am to 4pm Sunday. This position will be mostly evening hours.
