Position Overview:
- Candidates must have a license and current registration to practice pharmacy in New York State.
- Pharmacists independently prepare, compound, preserve, and dispense drugs, medicines, and therapeutic devices on the basis of prescriptions.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver pharmaceutical services safely and efficiently to patients of the hospital.
- Cooperate and collaborate with staff from other disciplines in assessing, selecting, integrating best pharmaceutical practices.
- Comply with policies promoting the effective, appropriate, and safe use of drugs in the facility.
- Remain aware of the maintenance of adequate drug supply.
- Uphold safe and sanitary practices, conditions, and report concerns to supervising pharmacist.
- Distribute / document medications, including controlled substances, correctly and as required by state and federal law.
- Promote safe drug storage.
- Participate in maintaining strict control / accountability for drugs dispenses or distributed to floor stock.
Pay Rate: $63 / hour
