Pharmacy Clinical Specialist - NICU

Summary:

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pharmacy Clinical Specialist for a leading hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized pharmaceutical care to neonates, including medication selection, dosing, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Ensure the safe and effective use of medications in the NICU, minimizing medication errors and adverse drug reactions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals on neonatal pharmacology and medication safety.
• Participate in research initiatives to advance neonatal pharmacy and improve patient outcomes.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent experience.
• PA Pharmacy License (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
• PGY1 or PGY2 residency in Neonatal Pharmacy required.
• Relevant experience in neonatal pharmacy or a similar critical care setting is preferred.
• Strong clinical skills in neonatal pharmacology and medication therapy management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
