SALARY RANGE
$75,000.00 Annually $2,884.61 Bi-weekly
Position Summary
The overall responsibility for the operation of the Department of Pharmaceutical Services. Overall responsibility for the budget for operational needs - including drugs, supplies and personnel. Also responsible for the drug handling (ordering, receiving and shipment) involved in the DMH Indigent Drug Program (IDP) for statewide use. Responsible for consulting and following the directives of the Superintendent and the Executive Medical Directornistrator and the Clinicial Director. Responsible for consulting with all Unit Directors as well as other major department heads (E.G., Purchasing, Accounting, Etc.). Responsible for formulating and implementing the policies and procedures of Sunland Pharmacy Operations and certain ones in the Indigent Drug Program (IDP).
The Work You Will Do
Designing, implementing and revising drug distribution management for all areas of Sunland and medication distribution for each individual resident. Management, revision, design, implementation and modification of and efficient U/D Unit Distribution System. Some minor areas of responsibilities are forms, design, memos in regard to request, procurement of pharmacy operating supplies.
Designing, outlining and implementation of training programs for new personnel and internship programs. To hold a clinical associate's position and each college effectively carry out the internship program as designed by Florida Statutes..
Attendance, preparation and responses to various meetings and conferences with the staff of the other departments at Sunalnd Center. This includes consulting with the physician and psychiatric staff' on medication or their residents or medical supplies for the various unit operations.
Normal management duties which includes but is not limited to telephone responses and simple problem solving. This could include meetings with drug representatives and supply manufacturers for any new information, updating of previous information and effective inventory procedure. Other areas would include resource gathering for future planning and revision of current operations. This included attendance at education facilities for update programs and/or reviews of current medicational trends, pharmacy management procedures and pharmacy professional aspects. This also includes attendance at other state institutions or private institutions for technical assistance.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Licensure as a Pharmacist in accordance with FL Statutes 465.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
+ Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
+ Ability to develop and maintain a perpetual inventory system.
+ Ability to evaluate pharmacy methods, procedures, and services to formulate policies, procedures and specifications.
+ Ability to develop and implement methods for manufacturing and packaging drugs and supplies.
+ Ability to select and train staff
+ Ability to supervise people.
+ Ability to develop various reports as required by Florida Statutes, Florida Department of Health, DEA, Board of Pharmacy or otherwise as required for pharmacy operations.
+ Ability to manage a pharmaceutical program.
