Job Summary
- The Pharmacy Education Coordinator works closely with pharmacy leadership in planning and implementing pharmacy technician orientation, ensuring routine validation of technique, and validate performance and quality of technician monthly duties. Additionally, the Education Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining adequate onboarding and ongoing competencies, along with supporting documentation. The Education Coordinator will perform routine quality audits on each site as determined by the System Medication Safety Pharmacist.
Job Requirements
- Education
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: Associates Degree in a Related Field
- Experience
- Required: 1 year hospital pharmacy technician experience
- Preferred: 2 years as a pharmacy technician within CoxHealth at a Tech III or higher
- Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams
- Self-starter
- Ability to travel across the system on a regular basis. Each site would be visited on a quarterly basis at a minimum
- Ability to monitor and compile data and disseminate results to multiple levels of leaders and employees
- Ability to train other pharmacy personnel to include but not limited to: Central pharmacy operations to include pre-pack, robot, carousel, advanced Omnicell capability and narcotic vault procedures; Decentralized areas to include surgery pharmacy, transitions of care, medication history and other tasks as deemed necessary by the pharmacy department
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Registered with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or application is in process and full registration obtained within 30 days of hire
- Required: Current Certified Pharmacy Technician within 90 days of hire
- Required: Within 6 months of hire:
- CoxHealth internal competency on Medication Safety and Training
- Critical Point certificate for sterile processing as required by CoxHealth
- Hazardous Drug Management training in HealthStream
