Responsibilities & Requirements:
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists pharmacist in total prescription filling process; data entry, inventory monitoring, counting, labeling, ordering, stocking, filing, and selling of prescribed and OTC products.
- OTC merchandising
- Help health care providers and patients in person and by phone; answers questions and requests; referring to pharmacist when appropriate.
- Comply with state and federal drug laws, KHN policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician
- 2 years retail or inpatient pharmacy technician experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
The technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceuticals. Perform routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medication, such as counting and labeling bottles. Also perform administrative duties, such as answering phones, stocking shelves, and operating cash register. Other responsibilities include the collection, organization, and evaluation of patient information, the management of medication distribution, and providing drug information and education to the patient. The technician must demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Technicians may establish and maintain patient profiles, troubleshoot insurance claims, and stock and take inventory of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
The pharmacy technician will perform these and any other task necessary to efficiently and lawfully operate KH Pharmacy.
