Responsibilities:

Assists Pharmacist in filling, compounding, and dispensing physician orders. Performs various technical duties involved with the handling, packaging, and delivery of pharmaceuticals including inventory management. The Pharmacy Tech II demonstrates proficiency to practice in two (2) or more of five (5) specific pharmacy areas (Oncology/Main, nursery, surgery, home care, outpatient infusion, narcotics/materials management). Provides sterile compounding services for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

• Strong sterile compounding skill set is preferred. 

 

Qualifications:

Requirements: 

1. High school diploma or
2. One of the following:

a. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia

b. Current licensure as a Pharmacy Intern in the State of Georgia

1. A minimum of two (2) years of pharmacy experience including at least six (6) months as a Pharmacy Technician II at Northside Hospital.
2. Must have current certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
3. Pharmacy students with Georgia Board of Pharmacy Intern License are exempt from needing certification.
