The **HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER OUTPATIENT PHARMACY DEPARTMENT** is looking for an outstanding **PHARMACY TECHNICIAN 2 - ORDER ENTRY THIRD PARTY BILLING TECHNICIAN** to join our Outpatient Pharmacy team!
**WORK SCHEDULE**
- 40 hours per week
- Rotating/Variable Shift
**POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**
- Perform non-professional/technical tasks related to the management of third-party billing for patients served by the Outpatient Pharmacies
- Act as a liaison between the billing operations specialist and the pharmacy staff, to ensure effective communication regarding billing issues
- All activities shall be performed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform order entry with the primary purpose of being able to proficiently adjudicate on-line billing claims, help on-line staff with billing issues at Order Entry.
- Function as third party billing resource in coordination with the Program Operations Specialist for Outpatient pharmacy staff.
- Provide coverage for other technician II positions as scheduled, this would include but not limited to Mail Order, Anticoagulation, NJB/GCT ScriptPro, Inventory Management, Medication packaging and Patient Assistance Program.
- Troubleshoot and resolve billing rejections and subsequently rebill claims to appropriate carrier for all commercial, federal, and state insurance plans.
- Contact payers for lost medication overrides, replacement and vacation override approvals.
- Identify patients who may qualify for patient medication assistance programs or copay assistance.
- Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician I.
**REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1 OR equivalent education/experience.
**LEGAL REQUIREMENT** State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
