Pay Rate: $21.50 per hour
Shift: Requires 2 opening shifts and 2 closing shifts each week, plus Sundays from 10 AM to 7 PM. Opening shifts are either 8 AM - 6:30 PM or 9 AM - 7:30 PM. Closing shifts are 10 AM - 8:30 PM.
Job Description:
We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient pharmacy operations, including the preparation and dispensing of medications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fill prescription items as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, ensuring accuracy and meeting productivity standards.
- Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
- Participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy, including checking in drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, and removing out-of-date items.
- Prepare medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may involve non-sterile compounding.
- Communicate with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Perform at least one of the following:
- Work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
- Work with automated machines to prepack drugs.
- Manage inventory functions, monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identifying expired medications.
- Input patient data and medication orders into a computer system for label production (data entry).
- Mix/package IV medications and sanitize the IV room, equipment, and hood.
- Service facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a pharmacy setting with medical terminology; ability to operate a computer and recognize medications; detail-oriented; goal-oriented; team player with effective oral communication; valid/active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
- Desired: At least 6 months of order entry experience and long-term care pharmacy experience.
