MUST:
Experienced Pharmacy Technician
6 plus months of Pharmacy Technician experience
Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician
Must have compounding experience
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience working in a Hospital and/or an Infusion center is highly preferred
DUTIES:
Pharmacy Technician Compounding will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Supports execution of activities, including dispensing, formulating, cleaning, compounding and sterile filtration activities
Resolves and escalates non-routine incidents immediately
Ensures proper cleaning of the clean room in accordance with procedures
Participated in routine media fills to maintain qualification status
Ensures the proper operation of manufacturing process equipment in accordance with internal policy and procedure
Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-oriented skills
Dresses in accordance with garbing and gowning policy detailed in operating procedures
Maintains accurate records of all assignments
Completes other duties designated by site management
Assists the pharmacist with providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to patients in accordance with the policies and procedures
Understands and can perform basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct doses of medications
Prepares medications under the supervision of a pharmacist so they are accurately compounded. Ensures that a licensed pharmacist properly checks all compounding and packing.
Speaks knowledgeably of the scope of services that are available. Understands basic drug terminology and therapies/services provide
Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information. Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary
Understands and complies with HIPPA
Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents and equipment error and/or failures.
Assists with the training and supervision of new pharmacy technicians
