Pharmacy Technician I - Mon Health

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications including IVs, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy Technicians only work under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be done only by a Registered Pharmacist.

Job Requirements

a. Minimum Education Requirement : High School diploma or GED or highest level degree/diploma obtained

b. Minimum Experience Requirement : On-the-job training. Must be detailed oriented. Computer skills and ability to prioritize. Basic typing and computer knowledge. Basic reading and mathematical skills obtained through a high school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills needed to maintain a cooperative working relationship with department staff and other healthcare providers. IV compounding experience a plus.

c. Minimum License Requirement : Registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern with the WV Board of Pharmacy.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

Light Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to10 lbs with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
