About the Job
Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, and/or director/manager of pharmacy services, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. Responsible to maintain confidential reports, enter and retrieve data utilizing the computer system, prepare intravenous medication, including but not limited to, hyper-alimentations and antibiotics, assists in all aspects of labeling and preparation of medication, assists with management of inventory including receiving and storing medication as well as preparation and delivery of narcotics, data collection related to medication center review and quality improvement, assists in monitoring and management of emergency carts through the hospital, fill automated medication dispensing system with a supply of unit dose medications, procure, and fill requests for pharmaceutical supplies and deliver supplies to nursing units.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications:- High School Diploma or General Education Degree
- Pharmacy Technician Registration in the State of Florida or Pharmacist Intern License in the State of Florida
- Knowledge with pharmacy computer systems and word processing software
- Demonstrates competency in IV Preparation
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures including narcotic record keeping and unit dose medication systems.
