- Proficient in the use of various pharmacy automation systems and electronic medical record.
- In the respective areas, responsible for the safe and accurate preparation of non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous medications according to USP 795, 797 and 800 guidelines. Perform at higher-level work by ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Responsible for medication handling and delivery, including controlled dangerous substances and hazardous medications.
- Follow proper medication safety practices (e.g., look alike sound alike, high alert, expirations and recalls, temperature and humidity documentation)
- Additionally, maintain competency and ongoing training in the specialized areas.
- Assist in training of pharmacy personnel, when appropriate.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail and teamwork.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Active registration with NJ Board of Pharmacy
- PTCB or NHA (obtained within 6 months of hiring)
- Hospital pharmacy experience with sterile compounding
