Responsibilities:

Assists Pharmacist in filling, compounding, and dispensing physician orders. Performs various technical duties involved with the handling, packaging, and delivery of pharmaceuticals including inventory management. The Pharmacy Tech II demonstrates proficiency to practice in two (2) or more of five (5) specific pharmacy areas (Oncology/Main, nursery, surgery, home care, outpatient infusion, narcotics/materials management). Provides sterile compounding services for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

• Strong sterile compounding skill set is preferred. 

 

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

1. Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
2. Two (2) years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting.
3. Six (6) months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician at Northside.
