One of ASG Pharmacy's major clients in the Columbus, OH area is currently seeking a well-qualified, experienced Pharmacy Technician for a Pharmacy Outreach Specialist opening. Job Description: You will play a vital role in improving patients' medication adherence by offering a quick and effortless way for patients to get their medications on time. Your responsibilities will include data entry, insurance verification, prior authorization processing, and coordination with prescribers and pharmacies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data entry of electronic, faxed, and verbal patient prescriptions in our pharmacy software
- Verify patient insurance coverage utilizing phone or online resources
- Initiate and submit prior authorizations to insurance plans in a timely manner via payer-specific portals and vendors
- Ensure all pertinent medical documentation is accurate and present prior to authorization submission
- Communicate with prescriber offices, insurance companies, and partner pharmacies to ensure best-in-class patient care
- Document activities appropriately in process notes using our operating system
- Navigate between multiple systems throughout the workday, including operational software and vendor portals
- Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems necessary
Must have requirements:
- OH State Certified Pharmacy Technician License is required
- National certification (PTCB/NHA)
- Experience with insurance billing and troubleshooting
- Retail pharmacy experience (hospital/inpatient and LTC-only experience not suitable)
- Strong data entry skills and experience with pharmacy software
- Excellent customer service skills and effective communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Reliable and team-oriented
Environment: Cubicle office setting with individual desks. Straightforward building access.
Schedule: Initial shift 8:30am-5pm. After training, the option to work closing shift 11:30am-8pm EST will be available.
Pay Range: $20-22/hr, depending on experience
Dress Attire: Business casual in office
