Description
Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the
Pharmacy Technician II
procures, prepares, packages, and distributes and disposes medications and pharmaceutical supplies to assist the department in providing quality pharmaceutical care for all patients. + Maintains an established inventory of drugs and commonly used supplies, minor housekeeping activities and department cleaning/disinfecting/decontaminating standards, re-orders and stocks items upon delivery to ensure immediate availability. + Ensures Pharmacist product verification and facilitates the timely and appropriate distribution of medications to maintain product integrity. + Maintains accurate records and patient profiles including charging and crediting. + Responds timely to customers' needs by answering phone calls, receiving and distributing messages, and triaging requests appropriately. + Conducts regular quality assurance inspections focused on TJC requirements, including the examination of product integrity and expiration.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. + Successful completion of an ASHP accredited technician training program or enrollment in a professional-related school preferred. + 6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or completion of ASHP-accredited tech training program preferred. + Current CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with a current Georgia Pharmacy Intern license. + Must maintain certification and registration through entire length of employment.
