Job Summary:
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, position. Pharmacy technicians provide assistance to pharmacists in processing and dispensing prescriptions to clients/patients in an institutional setting. They help maintain the daily operations and workflow of the pharmacy. Other duties included processing insurance claims and working with insurance carriers to resolve claim rejections; maintaining computerized and manual files of medication orders and prescriptions; ensuring pharmacy has adequate stock of medications and supplies; works closely with other medical staff to ensure medications are dispensed and administered correctly. Must register with the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy upon hire. Must complete and pass pharmacy technician certification exam within 2 years of hire. Training and coursework will be provided for exam preparation.

Licenses and Certifications:
Within two years of hire Pharmacy Technicians must be nationally certified and pass a board-approved pharmacy technician certification examination that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
