Mon-Fri 8a-6p Sat and Sun 10a-6p rotating shifts
The Certified Pharmacy Technician is accountable for facilitating responsible provision of pharmacy services through the performance of retail pharmacy functions, such as processing orders and maintaining patient profiles. This position is responsible for data entry, prescription filling, communication with other health care providers, providing excellent customer service and inventory management duties.

Responsibilities:Prescription Filling
• Selecting correct medication to fill, counting out, placing in appropriate dispensing container
Data Entry
• Taking a prescription, in different forms, or patient specific data and entering the information into the patient profile.
Clinical Excellence/Customer Service
• Receiving/Clarifying incoming prescriptions and assisting patients over the phone or in-person (in/out windows/drive-up.)
• Other duties as assigned
Inventory Coordination
• Maintain perpetual inventory accuracy, sending and receiving drug orders accurately.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria
• Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
• Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
• Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
• Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
• Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance
License(s)/Certification(s)
Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Technician at the time of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak fluent English.
