Chesapeake Regional Pharmacy Services is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team in our Wilmington, DE location. The Pharmacy Technician will perform functions related to the pharmacy. This role requires professional judgment and extensive technical training.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team as the primary data entry specialist. In this role, you will manage all incoming prescriptions, oversee prescription data entry, and maintain an organized workflow. This is a key position in our pharmacy operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing prescriptions while handling customer interactions and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary Data Entry Specialist: Accurately enter all incoming prescription information into the pharmacy system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prescription Management: Handle the entire process of managing prescriptions, including receiving, verifying, and inputting data.
- Phone and Customer Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, processing prescription authorizations (PAs), and resolving any issues.
- Inventory Management: Maintain strict control of pharmacy inventory, including ordering medications, tracking stock levels, managing returns, and monitoring controlled substances.
- Liaison with Healthcare Providers: Work directly with physicians, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure smooth prescription processing and authorization.
- Handle Prior Authorizations (PAs): Process prior authorizations efficiently to minimize delays in patient care.
- Secondary Responsibilities: Perform additional pharmacy technician duties such as preparing medications, labeling, and supporting other technicians as needed.
- Manage Vaccine Workflow: Oversee the entire vaccine administration process, from patient registration to vaccination and post-care follow-up.
- Billing Management: Accurately process and review billing for vaccines, ensuring compliance with insurance and Medicare/Medicaid requirements.
- Paperwork and Documentation: Supervise the collection, review, and filing of all vaccine-related paperwork, including consent forms, insurance claims, and documentation for regulatory purposes.
Qualifications:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
- Minimum 1 years of experience in pharmacy data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and data entry software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage inventory with precision and maintain compliance with legal regulations.
