Philanthropy Associate - Care New England

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Philanthropy Officer, Information Services and in collaboration with Major Gifts, Annual Giving, and Special Events, the Care New England Philanthropy Associate performs a variety of duties related to the review and processing of donor gifts, report generation, and data quality control.

The Philanthropy Associate will be responsible for providing other logistical and administrative support for the Philanthropy Department? as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports the Senior Vice President/Chief Philanthropy Officer with administrative and personnel related tasks as assigned and maintains supervisors’ business calendars.

Collects and processes donor gifts and information, and appropriately follows-up with donors by sending acknowledgement letters.

Reviews, processes, and creates deposit slips for all incoming gifts and pledges, ensuring that required documentation is complete and accurate for multiple CNE operating units.

Retrieves and processes all web credit card gifts and generates acknowledgement letters. Provides meeting support for the various divisions within the Philanthropy Department.

Prepares a variety of materials including general correspondence, proposals, and meeting minutes with other CNE departments and/or donors.

Edits and proofreads as requested.

Assists with activities and special projects within the Philanthropy Department.

Assists with special events (breakfasts, luncheons, and other special events). Enters events and guests in the event module, making sure all biographical information is accurate and up to date.

Assists when needed in collating mailings to the community.

Participate in some night and weekend work as needed.

Manages data collection of donor prospects and event participants to accommodate analysis of donor information.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.

Minimum of three years’ experience in office procedures, computer applications, and software programs.

Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge database, or another fundraising database preferred.

Must have advanced data entry skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be fluent in the English language.

Strong proofreading skills and high attention to detail are essential.

Effectively prioritize workload and schedule to complete job responsibilities.

Displays ability to adjust priorities based upon understanding of policies and procedures.

Completes responsibilities within required timespan, according to established schedules or workflow requirements.
