ShelterCare's Development Department of Eugene, OR is hiring a full-time Philanthropy Officer. This position is responsible for managing an annual portfolio of prospects capable of contributing major and planned gifts; prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. The primary purpose of the Philanthropy Officer is to build, support and advance a strong donor base that fosters long-term engagement and financial investment at ShelterCare. The Philanthropy Officer is an exempt; salaried position and earns a starting salary range of $60,232 - $64,854 per year (equivalent to $28.93 - $31.18 per hour) based on qualifications. This position requires the ability to work some evenings and/or weekends for events.
ABOUT SHELTERCARE
ShelterCare is a social services agency that is directed by a board of community volunteers. We have multiple programs in the Eugene/Springfield area. We offer a range of housing solutions combined with wraparound services for families and community members who are experiencing homelessness, on the verge of becoming homeless and have a serious mental illness. Because of the variety of services we offer, we are able to help many people in our community.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
3-5 years of successful fundraising experience in a nonprofit enviornment, with a minimum of two years direct experience as a major gift porfolio manager; knowledge of best practices for annual giving, major gift programs and planned giving (especially the integration of major giving activities with pipeline development); experience with major gifts ($1,000 and up) is preferred; must pass Oregon criminal history requirements; must be eligible to drive agency vehicles.

Natural relationship-builder who can identify and make authentic connections between people's philanthropic goals and the mission and needs of ShelterCare; Comfort and strong communication skills in speaking with diverse populations; demonstrable success in implementing fundraising strategies that directly increase organizational revenue.
Pysical Requirements
Work involves sitting most of the work day greater than 50% of the time; repetitive motion: substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers (computer use.) Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading, primarily on a computer monitor; occasional travel required for offsite meetings and events.
