POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepares and instructs patients for all types of worksite wellness specimen collection, including venous or capillary blood and urine specimens. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Successful completion of a phlebotomy course and/or one year of phlebotomy experience. Must provide copy of diploma/degree for highest level of education obtained.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
PBT(ASCP) Certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Ability to communicate clearly and calmly in English both verbally and in writing with patients, medical staff and the public. Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software. Be familiar with computer.
