Outpatient Phlebotomy Technician - Float -Position Summary

The Outpatient Phlebotomy Technician - Float -interacts with patients and other health-care providers to collect, transport and/or process blood and other body fluids from a full spectrum of the patient population. He/she performs EKG procedures in conjunction with the Department of Cardiology. He/she participates in educational and training activities and may participate in the performance of routine administrative and non–routine technical functions.

Outpatient Phlebotomy Technician - Float -Position Requirements

Education

• Successful completion of an approved training program consisting of both lectures and practical application in phlebotomy or comparable education or experience.
• Will be trained in house to perform EKG functions.

Experience

• One year’s experience performing similar duties preferred.
• Should have good typing skills.

Outpatient Phlebotomy Technician - Float Schedule

• Typically scheduled any shift at our Millsboro, Laurel, Mears, and Bridgeville lab locations with a rotating Saturday obligation currently in Ocean Pines 7a-11a.
• Alternate shifts and/or lab locations including facility/NH/AL collections may be requested to meet schedule needs. For example, a typical weekly schedule could be, but not limited to, 2-3 shifts at Laurel and 2-3 shifts at Mears/Millsboro/Bridgeville.
