As a Physical Scientist, GS-1301-14, you will perform the following duties:Lead the Dissemination Services Program within Analyze, Forecast and Support (AFS), working with National Centers, National Weather Service regions, and WFOs to provide support to partnering Federal agencies where hydrometeorological data or expertise could improve their service to the American people.Manage research to operational (R2O) activities to develop short- and long-range plans.Provide exceptional coordination and integration of a number of very important and complex programs, such as dissemination systems, meteorological analysis, decision support systems, field requirements, and strategic planning.Manage and provide leadership for all aspects of the AFS dissemination services program developing and tracking digital and graphical information support activities to create weather services public awareness programs and procedures.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentKey Requirements:Applicants must be U.S

You MUST meet the following requirements:EDUCATION:Degree: in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
ORCombination of education and experience: education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.ANDSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position
This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social)

Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the private or public sector
Specialized experience MUST include the following:
Disseminating or communicating policy to develop, enhance and maintain weather related standards, systems and practices;Developing and planning projects and/or studies to investigate issues such as weather forecasts and warnings; andCommunicating, both orally and in writing, on integrated programs and policies to internal and external stakeholders.
