You assist the Physical Therapist in providing patient centered care to meet residents’ individual treatment goals. Your attention to detail is essential to your success, as you keep up-to-date and accurate records. And, your collaborative skills come into play as you play an active role on each patient's interdisciplinary team. Using your good communication skills, you also take the time to thoroughly educate caregivers at the skilled nursing facility on how to assist patients with their individualized maintenance programs. After a day of hard work, you feel great about the measurable progress you have observed in your patients!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

• Associate degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant license
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation facilities
