Job Description:
Responsible for administration of physical therapy treatment and modalities to patients as directed by the licensed PT after the physical therapist has evaluated the patient with HH, IP, SB, and OP populations. The PTA assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury or disease. Instructs motivates and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities such as pre-ambulation, transfer techniques, ambulation, and daily-living activities. The PTA participates in operational aspects of the department, assists with performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in the quality calendar and improvement initiatives as directed by the rehab manager. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety, and fire safety programs. Upholds policy and procedures of KCCHSD, while protecting the mission of the facility.
Applied Science degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association in Physical Therapy Assistant. Current certification in Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Colorado and BCLS (CPR) certification. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Strong written and verbal skills. Prefer past experience in OP, IP, SB, HH practice or 1-2 clinicals in those populations.
