About the Job
Physical therapists are licensed doctors who& evaluate and treat patients with injuries or conditions that limit their mobility.& They use a variety of methods, including exercise, massage, hot and cold packs, and electrical stimulation, to help patients:& Improve movement, Relieve pain, Strengthen muscles, Increase mobility, and Prevent further injury or pain.&
Here are some typical duties of a physical therapist:
Review patient history:& Review medical records, referrals, or notes from other healthcare workers
Observe patient movement:& Observe patients walk, stand, and perform other tasks
Listen to patient concerns:& Listen to patients’ concerns
Develop care plans:& Create individualized care plans based on patient goals, expected outcomes, and other factors
Use methods to treat patients:& Use exercises, stretching, hands-on therapy, and equipment to help patients
Evaluate patient progress:& Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans when needed
Educate patients and family:& Educate patients and their families about the recovery process&
