We are seeking a highly engaged PTA to join our department and provide therapy to patients in the acute care setting. Our ideal candidate is internally motivated, prioritizes caseloads efficiently, communicates easily with other members of the healthcare team and considers themselves a lifelong learner. Within the acute setting, there are opportunities to work on areas of interest and provide education both within and outside of the department. For new grads or candidates transitioning into acute care we offer a robust mentor program designed to acclimate you into the hospital setting. Leaders in this department value the boundaries of the work day and will work with the right candidate to achieve a work/life balance. Because this is an acute care position, there is a weekend requirement, so we work with you to create a schedule that best meet both your needs and those of the department. Evening and weekend differentials are provided.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the general supervision of the manager of rehabilitation, provides and documents the full range of physical therapy treatments and tests to all patient populations served. Supervises supportive personnel and participates in education services.
Onboarding Process: Please be advised that candidates must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment health screening which includes a drug screen.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One year of acute care experience preferred. Minimum experience of student affiliation in acute care preferred, resulting in fulfillment of entry level competency standards as defined by APTA or experience as a PTA in acute care.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Communicates effectively with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, physicians and other employees.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited college leading to degree in physical therapy assistant and able to sit for board exam. Able to read, write, and speak English.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Licensure in the State of Massachusetts. BLS certification.
