Post-Acute Rehab Solutions is looking for a committed Full time Physical Therapy Assistant to act as the patient’s partner throughout the trip of restoring motion and ensuring that the client will function at their personal best. You will maximize the quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, diagnosis, treatment or intervention, and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities of a Physical Therapy Assistant:
- Prepare engaging exercises and activities to use during physical therapy sessions with patients.
- Provide counseling and consultations for new patients, their family members and caregivers.
- Follows goals and objectives for patients set by the physical therapist to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges.
- Assist physical therapists in direct patient care according to their respective plans of care.
- Prepare equipment ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed.
- Review the patient's file prior to their appointment and have a clear understanding of the challenge to be addressed.
- Complete required documentation in a reasonable timely manner.
Qualifications of a Physical Therapy Assistant:
- Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Texas
- Proficient in computer software commonly used for documentation and report preparation
- Demonstrates knowledge and adherence to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws
- Experienced in working with sensitive and personal patient records and information
- Physical endurance and the ability to work primarily in a standing position and lift at least 50 lbs
- Demonstrates a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with patients, family members, or other staff members
- Ability to work with patients and family members with different types of personalities
- Accountability and attention to detail is essential when handling and documenting important medical information
