The physical therapy assistant position will provide direct patient care and support activities which build and maintain independence to residents at Harborview Lansdale Rehab and Care. Duties are as follows:
- Provide comprehensive, appropriate resident treatment in accordance with resident's individual treatment plan as stipulated by supervising Physical Therapist.
- Meets the resident's goals and needs and provides quality care, using necessary supplies and adaptive equipment for residents to facilitate independence.
- Communicates with supervisor and interdisciplinary team members regarding resident progress, problems and treatment plans.
- Document resident care by charting inpatient and department records according to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional guidelines.
- Maintains safe and clean working environments by complying with treatment location and department procedures, rules and regulations.
- Using proper body mechanics during resident treatment. Must be able to lift and transfer residents to and from all surfaces.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, kneel, grasp, push/pull and have fine motor manipulation.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant Registration/State Licensure as required from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience in geriatric adult neurologic, cardiac and/or general rehabilatation preferred.
