POSITION SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy treatments to patients in the hospital and outpatient settings, working under the direction of a physical therapist. The PTA on assigned patients observes records and reports to the PT any changes in the patients functional and medical conditions. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the units policies and procedures and skills check lists. The PTA follows state guidelines and professional supervision requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Associates degree from accredited program
- New graduate or experience
- BLS Healthcare Provider Status required within first 30 days of hire date
