About the Job
The ideal candidate is a skilled clinical practitioner with strong interpersonal skills and experience in an administration role. The successful applicant will work closely with our leadership team to implement strategies that enhance patient care.
Responsible for providing leadership, developing and coordinating long-range planning for our primary care service line. The Medical Director is responsible for motivating staff to be a highly-functioning, financially-sound team while maintaining the highest standards of medical care. He/She is expected to maintain a clinical identity while devoting his/her abilities to proper management, function and efficiency of our primary care program. Hiring and recruiting physicians is an important function of the Medical Director, as is retaining high-level physicians and other staff. He/She will act as a liaison to other physicians by maintaining relationships that are helpful and collaborative, while focusing all physicians on the important of community outreach and exemplary communication with specialty physicians.
The ideal candidate will be a clinical physician leader who has demonstrated, by earlier accomplishments, an ability to define a vision for primary care services appropriate for the Medical Group, establish ambitious goals for the program and lead all involved in a comprehensive program to achieve those goals.
The successful candidate is expected to have a medical degree (MD/DO) with board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Family Medicine. He/She must be qualified to be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Michigan.
