A full-time Physician Assistant position is available with Liberty Healthcare at the Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center in Bangor, Maine.
The Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center provides inpatient and outpatient services to adults who are experiencing mental illness. Selected members of the hospital’s medical staff work through a collaborative partnership with Liberty Healthcare.
As a Physician Assistant with Liberty at the Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center, your role will focus on providing primary care to patients in the hospital’s onsite medical clinic.
General responsibilities will include:
- Conducting histories and physicals for hospital patients and new admissions
- Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical issues
- Prescribing medications, monitoring efficacy, and modifying drug regiments
- Referring patients for diagnostic and specialty services
- Collaborating with Primary Care Physicians, Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists and other clinical and ancillary professionals
Please note – this role is limited to basic primary care and does not involve providing psychiatric or mental health services.
