Physician Assistant, Cardiothoracic Surgery - Cottage Health

Join Cottage Clinical Associates as a Physician Assistant Cardiothoracic Surgery. Under the administrative and technical supervision of a physician, the Physician Assistant will play an integral role in the global management of cardiothoracic surgery patients, including all aspects of perioperative care, performance of invasive surgical procedures within the professional scope of clinical duties, and provision of patient care expertise in the pre- and postoperative acute care environment of a cardiothoracic surgery program.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Minimum: Master's Degree. Completion of an accredited training program such as the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA) or equivalent accrediting agency

Preferred: Completion of a post-graduate residency program in cardiothoracic surgery. Minimum 2 years current experience may be substituted

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Minimum: Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant issued by the California State Board of Medical Quality Assurance. Valid Drug Enforcement Agency license. Approval for privileges by Medical Staff. Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum: Proficiency in the use of an EMR/ computer based documentation and Microsoft Office Preferred: EPIC Electronic Medical Record system

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum: Minimum 2 years current experience working as a Physician Assistant in a cardiothoracic surgery program.
