Physician Assistant - Hospitalist (Night)

Position Overview:

As a Hospitalist Physician Assistant, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team, delivering high-quality care to hospitalized patients during the night. The position offers flexible, rotating 12-hour night shifts, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, providing appropriate interventions and therapies.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, adjust medications, and initiate necessary consultations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team during the night shift, ensuring clear and compassionate communication.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the hospitalist program.

Qualifications:

• Board Certification as a Physician Assistant
• Active and unrestricted NYS License
• Experience in hospital medicine preferred
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working night shifts
