Position Details:
Hartford Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their Cardiology Critical Care team! The successful candidate will provide holistic and evidence-based care to critically ill patients admitted to the Cardiology Intensive Care Unit and Cardiology Step-Down Unit. Patient populations include Therapeutic Hypothermia, STEMI, TAVR, VAD, ECMO and other cardiogenic shock therapies. The successful critical care candidate will support patients across the care continuum and work collaboratively with specialty teams.

Location: 85 Jefferson Street, Hartford, 06102
Setting: Inpatient, cardiology critical care
Schedule: Full-time, day/night rotating. Premium differentials offered.

Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioner Role Scope:
Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.
Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
- Training: Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Experience: New graduates welcome to apply!
- We provide comprehensive orientation for new graduates and ample supervision for procedures.
Preferred:
- 1+ years’ experience in a critical care/cardiology setting
