Job Description

A physician assistant (PA) in primary care supports patients' physical and mental health by performing a variety of duties, including:

• Patient care: Greeting patients, taking medical histories, and performing physical exams
• Diagnosing illnesses: Performing assessments and making diagnoses
• Developing treatment plans: Working with physicians and nurses to create and manage treatment plans
• Prescribing medications: Prescribing medications from a limited list, usually through delegation or a direct order from a physician
• Ordering tests: Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and X-rays
• Monitoring progress: Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed
• Educating patients: Instructing patients and their families on lifestyle changes and self-care techniques
• Referrals: Referring patients to specialists as needed
• Maintaining records: Keeping accurate patient records

Pay Range: $115,000-$135,000.
