Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations of patients and interpret medical histories.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries under the supervision of a physician.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, EKGs, and laboratory tests.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, including prescriptions for medications.
- Monitor patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding preventive care, medical conditions, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies regarding patient care and medical ethics.
- Participate in continuous education, training, and professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and skills.
Job Details
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state of practice.
- National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a primary care setting.
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine, and physical diagnosis.
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) software and other healthcare IT systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and a passion for improving the health and well-being of patients.
- Demonstrated experience in Healthcare Management.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
