Salary Range: $53.10 - $73.20
Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.
This position is for a qualified APP (PA or NP) working in an Urgent Care setting.
The position is classified as an exempt salaried position.
In addition to the base salary, there is a quarterly productivity bonus that can be discussed.
Position Summary:
- Provide the full scope of primary care services which fall under his/her field of training.
- Including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative care and health maintenance to patients.
- Expected to be familiar with the philosophy, goals and objectives of LVMC and work collaboratively to achieve them.
- They must be cognizant of, and comply with, all LVMC policies and procedures, and well as pertinent state and federal regulations.

Position Duties/Responsibility:
- Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
- Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
- Prescribe medication in accordance with California statue and professional practice guidelines.
- Perform minor surgical procedures.
- Arrange referral for patients requiring services not offered at LVMC.
- Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date and follow-up in a timely manner.
- Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs in the LVMC service area.
- Comply with the LVMC Infection Control plan which includes personally utilizing universal precautions. Ensure compliance by support staff.
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical meetings.
Essential Functions:
- Identifies the physiological, psychosocial, safety, developmental, and educational needs of patients and families.
- Utilizes technologies to effectively provide high quality patient care.
- Clearly communicates the plan of care to patients and families.
- Evaluates and documents diagnostic findings and the patient’s progress toward expected outcomes.
- Utilizes principles of teaching and learning to meet the educational needs of patients and families.
- Provides patients and families with professional and community resource information, making referrals as needed.
- Promotes a mutually respectful environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and supports the effectiveness of intra-professional relationships.
- Builds the inter-disciplinary team to provide optimum care by teaching, coaching, and mentoring others.
- Recognizes opportunities to improve care safety, quality, and efficiency and acts as a change agent to support improvement initiatives, based on evidence based practices.
- Synthesize and evaluate scientific evidence to develop best practices for standards of care.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates quality indicators to measure patient and system outcomes.
- Evaluates and participates in the selection of new technologies to advance patient care.
- Collaborates with the inter-disciplinary team in the design, implementation, and evaluation of research.
- The ability to communicate verbally and in written form in English.
- The ability to answer phones in a professional manner.

Position Qualifications:
- California Physician Assistant License
- National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants
- Insurability (malpractice)
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
- ACLS Certified
