The Department of Medical Oncology of The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (SKCC) is seeking a bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy or myeloma physician leaders to join its growing department. The successful candidate for this position will work in close collaboration with Dr. Gergis and the BMT team to lead the clinical research program and grow its specialty programs. The position will require an individual with exceptional research track record and a demonstrated ability to lead an expansive clinical and research portfolio. This individual will provide ongoing supervision of a number of ongoing research projects, develop new high impact clinical trials, help publish the unique experiences, and build the clinical portfolio and patient populations of the program.
One of the responsibilities of the role will be to significantly contribute to the growth of the BMT research program at Jefferson and SKCC. Ideally, the successful candidate will bring a national reputation/presence that will also fuel the growth of the program. Additionally, by working closely with SKCC leadership, the successful candidate will be involved in designing an academic programs consistent and aligned with the requirements for NCI cancer center designation, identifying new growth opportunities, and assuring the maintenance and continuous assessment of consistently high-quality performance of care to enhance referral relationships and support cross disciplinary academic programs.

Primary Responsibilities
- With the BMT Director, develop and implement the BMT or Myeloma strategic research plan which will integrate with that of the Department Medical Oncology.
- With the BMT Director, monitor faculty academic productivity with respect to research, publications, peer reviewed extramural funding, and active participation in enrolling patients to clinical trials.
- Serve as mentor to junior faculty and researchers of all stages of clinical research in the BMT/Myeloma program when appropriate.
- Participate in SKCC, the Department of Medical Oncology and BMT/Myeloma research and clinical activities, residency and fellowship training, and participate in tumor boards.
- Partner with Solid Tumor faculty and others in the comprehensive care of BMT/Meloma patients
- MD or equivalent degree from an accredited professional school
- Currently a Associate Professor (eligible for promotion to Professor) or Professor at a BMT or Myeloma Program at a system of comparable size
- Board certified in Medical Oncology, and/or Hematology and hold a current license to practice medicine
- Record of excellence in patient care
- Strong research background
- Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, sustainable partnering relationships
- Demonstrated experience working with and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member
- Physician investigator with research training beyond MD degree such as PhD or research fellowship
- Demonstrated leadership in division, program or institute of an NCI designated cancer center with a proven track record of success in the role
- Five or more years of administrative experience leading a complex clinical program/department, cancer center/institute
- Proven track record in managing clinical trials
- Proven track record of peer reviewed extramural funding
